Hi, I'm Clem from the Devil Pig Games, the company that made Heroes of Normandy.
We will release this year a WH40K version, called Heroes of Black Reach.

And White Dwarf talked about it:

We also received samples of the Drop Zone, a kind of starter set for the range, allowing you to get a tase of the game mechanisms.

I know it isn't minis, but we really liked to work on it and are proud to talk about it!

What do you think?

A block game and an Ameritrash game got busy in the grimdark future!:teehee:

The first picture looks like a single closed game, but the inclusion of "Issue #1" and "range" in the subsequent images and text implies that this will be more.

Regardless, I'm pretty sure this is going to become part of my collection.

And here are some links I found after some (very quick) research:

This looks really, really good.

I think it's something I would get, but moreover, it's something I would introduce to my friends who are curious about the Wh40k setting, but are intimidated by the full tabletop game (buying an army, painting the miniatures, the deep rules, etc.)  This game has a much lower barrier to entry, because they'll see a boardgame.

What I see is an alternative/homage to the old Epic scale.  I really like the overhead design and look forward to this release.

And for those of you that haven't seen, the February 2018 issue of White Dwarf Magazine has free cards for this game:

And for those of you that want to get a better feel for this game, it is based on the Heroes System Tactical Scale that is also used in the Heroes of Normandie game. While there are sure to be some differences between the two games, the older WWII game provides a solid foundation for understanding the newer WH40K game.
