Rules question re: Lord Arkos and "Aura of Dark Majesty"

Lord Arkos is able to have the "Alpha Legion" keywords, and also has the "heretic astartes" and "infantry" keywords, so as Alpha Legion he qualifies for the legion trait of -1 to hit if more than 12" away.

 

Lord Arkos has an ability called "Aura of Dark Majesty", which states "...subtract 1 from all hit rolls made against it in the shooting phase".

 

Do these stack? I'd assume so because it's two different rules, one applies always during the shooting phase, and the other applies if the enemy shooting is greater than 12" away from him, thus if an enemy is shooting at him from more than 12" they get a -2 to hit?

Yes, they do stack. I checked to see if you could use the "change Mark" stratagem to Nurgle-ize him and then apply Miasma of Pestilence for an extra -1 but he doesn't have the <Mark of Chaos> keyword. Edited January 17, 2018 by Iron Father Ferrum
