Merellin
Are they fun and enjoyable to play? I kind of want to start a new army for 2018 but dont know what army to start, And Tyranids have awesome models and I'd like to try painting them. So I was curious how they are to play? codyrstuart
I bought a very unusable army at the tail end of 7th because it was cheap, and now that same army is a very powerful build. The new codex with the traits and stratagem provide multiple ways to play, and makes them very deadly. Majority of the Tyranids want to rush forward and get into combat, but there are several effective shooting builds. Not to mention majority of the HQ choices are great psychic choices as well. Xenith
I've seen a lot of reports of Tyranids winning local tournaments and such. They're strong and in a good place now. Not all units are great, but it's a step up from the one unit codex of the last 2 editions. CoffeeGrunt
My Nids have been going strong locally, but I've only been playing a few games and not especially competitive at that. Captain_Krash
Nids are a serious powerhouse army and are top tier. Most tournament goers don't or never played them due to the model size army required/editions past rules. I'd expect to see them sweeping some GT's very soon. Merellin
You know, I keep trying to decide what to build, And I like Nids cus they got cool models, And I like Guard.. And a guy at the gaming club told me "Why dont you play genestealer cult? Then you can ally in either one of them" so I went "Awesome idea!" and I think I'l do that actualy. Genestealer Cults, With Tyranid or Guard allies depending on the day!^^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/343467-how-are-tyranids-doing-in-8th-edition/#findComment-4988433 Share on other sites
Captain_Krash
Agreed I'm doing this as well. Slowly building up a Nids army while playing genestealer cults it's like getting two armies for the price of...well two, it's still GW we are talking about here!
