The commander hides behind the Mortar Teams somewhere safe or rides along with the Marauders.

I don't want any Leman Russ or Chimera, I don't like the kits.  I will take anything from Chaos Space Marines so long as it is not too daemonic.  I am open to any superheavy.  I have room for only one more detachment.  I want army to be elite focus so no cultists, mutants etc but open to more marauders.  Obviously I have alot of flyers already so not sure if any more is a good idea?

You seem to be leaning pretty heavily towards ranged combat. I'd suggest taking some units that can shore up your overall weak close combat composition. If you want to stay within the confines of the RaH, I'd suggest Ogryn. If not, I highly suggest taking some Khorne berzerkers. Just my two cents.

Let's get into some serious mathhammer. If you have 1260/2000 points, then that leave exactly 740 points for the rest of your army.

A patrol detachment is good, but it honestly isn't enough to cover up the admittedly lacking CQC unit composition. IMO, you should take a bare minimum brigade detachment. Three squads of five (be sure to take chainaxes instead of chainswords) with Khârn and a chaos Lord is needed to shore up your defenses.

Three squads of five with each berzerker (plus their chainaxe) costing 17 point per model comes out to 255. Khârn costs 160, so with the berserkers, that's 415. Finally, a bare bones lord costs 94 points which makes this detachment come out to 509 points.

Lastly, if you choose for Khârn or the chaos lord to be you warlord, then you would get access to some world eaters shenanigans.

If you are going to put them right on the enemy, meltas or plasmas will be much better. Because you probably not going to have a second turn for these guys, even with -1 to hit and +2 to save in cover

Take another renegade commander and you will receave another command point

I am open to any superheavy.

Baneblade or Macharius Vulcan are your best choices. I will analize your army later and will tell what do I think how it will handle against different races.

I haven't attached the special weapons yet so am open to changing to melta... but I wanted them as versatile as possible and also not costly when they die.

I alredy have three defilers, but the paint hasn't touched them yet and so depending on whether they fit in this list or not whether they are Thousand Sons or Dark Mechanicus colour scheme :)

Why are you not taking Valkirie?

100% aesthetic choice

Another vanguard wastes 25 points on commander and uses up my third and final detachment for only an extra command point.

Totally like the baneblade but not totally sure on it, prefer lots of smaller models.. but not horde.

I am taking a specialist trait depending on who I am fighting, but probably most of the time the stalkers since the -1 to hit and +1 to cover works at close range also (until its faq'd which I don't expect).

Hell Blades with their Helstorm Autocannons, though they aren't attached yet... I'm painting subassembly right now. I cant see much reason to take the lascannons when disciple squads are cheaper and more accurate lascannon shots.
