sarabando
today is my birthday and i was very lucky that i got an airbrush/compressor/ spray booth from my parents :D im hoping this will speed up my priming and base coating once i manager to figure out how to get consistant results. sarabando
So first try with a real airbrush and compressor my first run in was the wierd flamer thing GW made when i was working there. having some trouble with consistancy so its alittle thick in places, and screaming Skull likes to dry up on the needle almost instantly but its a solid coat which has gone on over the rhinox hide drybrush and this step is hands down the most time consuming (next is the reds) heres the first one i did just SS then a wash then SS to tidy up by brush then off white by brush alot faster than before. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/343638-run-the-traitors-to-ground-30k-white-scars/page/13/#findComment-5125892 Share on other sites

sarabando
set myself a challange to build, prime, and paint 5 heavy weapon marines before midnight. started about 2pm ish and ive just stopped. things ive learnt 1. i dont need to paint the same way with an airbrush i dont need to build up several layers to get the colour i want as i will just end up rewashing and relayering etc. 2 i need to learn how to do small details with my new airbrush to avoid point 1. sarabando
"A hive quake opened up one hundred and thirteen sub levels once thought lost in Hive Barrabilus. During sweeps by local authorities the below image was located. Sealed in a floor safe was a faded holo pic printed on wax parchments the note on the reverse side reads "The Scars inspect their handy work, in the centre Jaws or so we have come to refer to him due to the markings on his helmet. He is the most ...human of the Astarte who we have fought along side. Captain Miranda Advoca Barrabilus hive .761 M31" All done and based just need to do the black ring around the lip of the base. Then onto the next 5. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/343638-run-the-traitors-to-ground-30k-white-scars/page/13/#findComment-5127860 Share on other sites

Bjorn Firewalker
Need some input not sure if i should use this pose The arms are absolutely important in making this pose work. The legs look like those of a lunging fencer, so I think this Contemptor will look best with a chainfist in an extended right arm. (Bonus points if you impale a jump pack-equipped Chaos Space Marine on the chainsword.) or this one Are you going to squeeze an infantry model under the Contemptor's left foot, so it looks like the White Scars legend is contemptuously finishing off a wounded enemy? If not, then the pose will look like that of a child throwing a tantrum. FlamingDeth
I would say that the first pose looks like he's running purposefully and the second looks like he's doing the twist. Might just be the photos though. Supe robot gangster #1
Haha love the sneaky Valhallan in the background there! Any plans for him in the future you can divulge? As for the dreadnought, I think the first pose, the second kinda looks like he is about to loose his balance and fall over! Quixus
Awesome conversions and kitbashes all around. trying to get some more plastic minis done. I really like the pose and most of the bits used, but I think he would look even better with MKIII or MkVI shoulder pads. First up are a pair of WIP Apothocarys still need to get some packs for them and then more gubbings around thier waists. Do you mind telling me where the power swords came from? The finished apothecary looks great BTW. Now that is an orky marine, he even has a bosspole ;-] Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/343638-run-the-traitors-to-ground-30k-white-scars/page/13/#findComment-5130051 Share on other sites
