Arganias
For me, when I am playing the game, I tend to use very quick mathhammer as a gauge to how effective something should be, but if it takes longer than 10 seconds and involves repeating integers I will just roll the dice. If it's something I know is a long shot, like needing to roll 4 sixes, or something safe like a couple 2+ saves it really isn't worth wasting time over. I usually don't try to get too lost in the weeds with wargear cost either, if something is cool or is works towards my play style I will use it. What bugs me the most are people that try to win the game before it is even played, why bother even playing if you are getting that deep into it? wildweasel
MathHammer is a useful tool for being a good player, as it provides benchmarks and ways to evaluate gear options and such. Being a great player means knowing that any given game will vary, and being ready to handle it when you end up on the wrong side of that variation. Tamiel
You may not be interested in math, but math is interested in you.
