Leoric
Greetings Fellow Brothers! I bought a set of Deimos Rhinos from FW to round up my Legions. The kits are fine, but unfortunately the majority of the resin hull elements are bent. On one-two it is almost indiscernible, but others look really bad. I would ask for your help and advice. I worked with resin before, but they where only infantry models, with nearly no warping. But these fault really annoy me. Is a hairdryer and some cold water enought to bent them back a little bit? Or is there more finesse needed? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/343947-deimos-rhino-resin-hull/ Share on other sites
Spinsanity
I've always preferred hot water + rubber bands + letting it sit to bend back warped tank parts. I'd suggest assembling the rh1n0's plastic core, heating the sides up and then building the rh1n0 in full without glue and letting rubber bands hold it in place. Once it cools down, the parts should have bended back into shape, if you used enough bands and placed them strategically... Kisada
You can also dip them in cool water or even just blow on them to cool them down and have them get solid enough to retain the straightened shape Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/343947-deimos-rhino-resin-hull/#findComment-5034516 Share on other sites
Grim Dog Studios
When straightening out FW stuff (gun barrels and the like) I normally boil some water in the kettle and add a drop of tap water afterwards so that it isn't boiling but still hot. Give the piece of resin a dunk for a few seconds until its playable and then straighten into the shape I want. Another dunk into a bowl of cold water usually solidifies it and retains the new shape. In your case like Spinsanity suggested I would build up the rest of the rhino, dunk the resin bits into the hot water, hold them in place on the rhino and then dunk the entire thing into a bowl of cold water. This way you can be sure that the sides are formed correctly to the rhino when they cool down and solidify. Edit: Just realised this thread was back from January. Hopefully this may help somebody else in the future though!
