dudemanmcgee
So I recently got a bunch of sisters models and inquisition and the index and now I've been looking at what to build with it, and was looking for suggestions on this. The models I have to work with are: Celestine and two Geminae 1 Immolator 4 Rhinos 24 Battle Sisters W/ Bolters 2 Battle Sisters w/ Flamers 2 Battle Sisters w/ Meltas 3 Sister Superiors 1 Canoness 9 Repentia Sisters 1 Mistress of Repentance 2 Death Cult Assassins 1 Ministorum Priest 1 Sister Hostipilar 1 Sister Dialogus 1 Penitent Engine 1 Inquisitor w/ Power Sword and Inferno Pistol 1 Inquisitor w/ Incinerator 1 Iquisitor Karamov 1 Daemonhost So yeah as I said I'm fairly fresh with sisters and was just for help on what I could build with my sisters possibly in the 500 or 100 point range. Thank You for the help. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344020-army-help/ Share on other sites
A.T.
You'll want more special weapons (melta and stormbolter) - you can bash up/proxy the latter from bolter sisters. At low points with what you have a spearhead of melta and stormbolter dominions with Celestine (or a canoness with relic and bodyguards in small games) will probably be the way forwards. Push early with everything that isn't holding an objective. Penitent engines and repentia are to individual taste, and always take a priest with the latter. You can proxy up a missile launcher on a rhino for an exorcist - roughly the same firepower as a las razorback - and for anti-psyker an inquisitor/greyfax with minimum acolyes is relatively cheap. Beams
I'd say try running a melee army (Repentia, Cannoness, Celestians) in smaller games. At the very least, it'll be fun. robofish7591
I would definitely recommend picking up or converting some special and heavy weapons. It does look like you have a pretty decent foundation to an army though! dudemanmcgee
Any specials/heavies in particular? I heard meltas and storm bolters are decent this edition. Atrus
Meltas and storm bolters for sure. Heavy bolters are a fair investment too. Heavy flamers and multimelta are to taste. Multimeltas are absuredly over priced. I never leavy home without heavy flamers myself. robofish7591
As far as special weapons go, melta and stormbolters are the most popular. Flamers are ok, but storm bolters are longer range and more reliable. I have had some success with a dominion squad loaded up with four flamers and a combi flamer in an immolator though. For heavy weapons, heavy bolters and heavy flamers are the go to. Heavy bolters are one of our only "long ranged" weapons. I like to stick my heavy bolters in retributor squads with a simulacrum nearby to give them acts of faith. My heavy flamers usually go in my battle sister squads, since they are usually moving up to go take objectives and what not. I usually will pair the heavy flamer with either a regular flamer or a melta gun, it usually depends on how I have the rest of the army set up since I only have a limited amount of models. Multi meltas can be useful, but the -1 to hit for moving really hurts them I feel. I would rather just take two normal meltas that can move and fire normally. Also, by the way, flamer immolators are amazing. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344020-army-help/#findComment-5001026 Share on other sites
bkde
4-5 Heavy bolters will go a long way. 4 HB armed rets are a staple of a lot of lists. Otherwise as others have said meltas and stombolters. Meltaguns are always great, stormbolters are more a fad of this edition. Heavy flamers/flamers have fallen out of favour a bit this edition due to the 8" range. Immo flamers are amazing though. Once you're ready to branch out Seraphim should be your next purchase. Regarding list options, at 500pts Celestine will butcher most things. If you want to go more balanced with what you have: Cannoness w/relic power sword 5-10 BSS w/2xflamers in a rhino 5 dominions w/2x meltas in a flamer immo The above is a good start, can season with a penitent engine or priest + mistress + repentia in a rhino or Celestine to taste. Purifying Tempest
Celestine + 2 Geminae Canoness 5 BSS + Superior + 2 Meltagun + Rhino (8 sisters) 5 BSS + Superior + 2 Flamers + Rhino (8 sisters) 9 BSS + Superior + Rhino (10 sisters) 3-5 Repentia + Mistress in Immolator Penitent Engine That may not be the best army, but it is closing in on 1200 points and +3 CP for a battalion, with the models you listed. I would definitely look at adding meltaguns (at least 2 for a Dominion squad of 4 meltas in your Immolator). That'd be the easiest, most efficient, and least costly upgrade to your army. A heavy flamer would give you a Heavy Flamer + Flamer combo on one of your basic battle sister squads, which is a decent upgrade. As many have said, the basic flamers are not that great this edition. If you're wanting to spend money: Seraphim and Heavy Bolters are efficient upgrades, as well as an Imagifier to hang out and cheer on your HB Rets. That will probably put you in the 1500 point range pretty easily. Ficinus
People are saying that basic flamers aren't great, but I love running heavy flamer, flamer, combi-flamer in squads of five doubled up in Rhinos. It is very demoralizing for the opponent to see you auto-hit with HF, auto-hit with flamers, and then do it again with a second squad. Also, it's fantastic for defence against most charges (those within 8"). Still miss those templates, though. dudemanmcgee
Thanks for the advice so far everyone I started converting 6 basic sisters into melta sisters using the ends of Stikkbombs to create the melta end and a few other plastic bits for tubing. I'll definitely need to look into some heavy bolters as well by the sounds of it and probably another immolator. Atrus
You can also convert a rhino or two into the revered Repressor. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344020-army-help/#findComment-5001212 Share on other sites
robofish7591
Sounds like a nifty conversion, you should post some pictures if you can. I'm sure everyone would like to see them!
