Try eBay or search for a commission painting service (there's a few who post their work in the Hall Of Honour here on B&C).

No shame; plenty of people buy second-hand painted or commissioned work. :)

yeah, up till now i’ve only been a reader of BL. i haven’t the skill or patience...but happy to pay for some of beautifully rendered stuff i’ve seen online.

just had a look through eBay..and there’s tonnes. will also take a look through the HoH. thank you for pointing me in the right direction!

If you find someone who actually does work to a professional standard (rather than the poorly-assembled and sloppily-painted junk that most sellers call "pro-painted on eBay) then yes, it's worth it if you can afford to do so.  Time is money, after all - and if you don't feel like you have the time and the skill and would rather play than paint, commissioning an army is a good option.

The problem with most second-hand models is that the quality of assembly and work is inconsistent and your army may lack a uniform appearance.

You might also check local stores. Some gamers may be willing to supplement their hobby with painting. This also lets you look at their work in person to ensure it’s the quality you want to pay for.

The store manager may be willing to point you in the right direction, since it means more in their direction.
