dtse
Hey guys. Anyone find the right should pads just don’t fit? Had to putty them to secure them. Also how are people securing the bases to the bikes? The balls suck and magnet is not strong enough. Sanguinius Chosen Wing
I have found the bike kit one of the slowest and most irritating things to put together for a long time. The kit generally goes together well but it just has these weird issues like the ball joint of the base and shoulder pads that I wonder how it passed quality control Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344106-assembly-issues/#findComment-5003500 Share on other sites
Gentlemanloser
Only put together 1 Allarus so far, and I had to squeeze the right pad into place. Also the Eagle headdress/neck thingy didn't really fit between the pads. It would have been better to put it on first, then the pads after. There's also a numbering issue in the guide, much like the Imperial Knight kit. Can't remember which bit it was off the top of my head, just remember I caught one. Crizza
So, none of you is disappointed that the new kits come partly assembled? The pics of the sprues show that they're partialy build, same goes with the weapons... this will prevent me from buying them I guess... Im not only because it seems to have been that way for quite a while. I hated it at first but it seems to be pretty standard now. The termies are like that, Valoris is like that i think alot of primaris and DG are as well Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344106-assembly-issues/#findComment-5003786 Share on other sites
headcrash
Yes, I had issues with the bikes as well. That right arm - both getting a pose with the spear and getting that shoulder pad on were a pain in the rear. The terminators (Allarus) had some numbering issues in the manual. Edit: I also am interested in what people are doing for bases. I think I'm going to use the clear ones, but I would like them to be removable as they will break easy in transport. Not as bad as those Dark Imperium Inceptors - those I totally had to kitbash out. Not as bad as those Dark Imperium Inceptors - those I totally had to kitbash out. The lance arms were a big pain. For the bases, I cut the ball joint off the flying stand and drilled through the join for a better fit. It's not perfect. I do wish gw would use their head and not keep making the same kind of join for the flying stands that barely work. wildweasel
I didn't have an issue with the Termies (I don't even remember a numbering issue - whatever it was must have been so apparent how it should've been I just blazed on through). As with others, I had a bit of a pain with the biker right arms and shoulders. One or two of the shoulders I noticed rest on the gem on the elbow, so I applied just a touch of glue for another join. I also found the butt of the lances hitting the cloth from the leg limited the positioning of the lances. With the next set I do, I may trim just a bit of the butt where it would "press" into the cloth to create another join and allow more posing. dtse
Right arms suck but easily magnetized. The should pad does not fit well. Had to putty them on. Bases suck. Just cut the ball off and drill through the top of the socket and then you will have a solid foundation If unsure just check out my WIP video that gets published Monday morning on the channel Lion El Josh 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344106-assembly-issues/#findComment-5005769 Share on other sites
Gentlemanloser
Bikes suck to put together. Especially the Misericordias and getting the feet to point in the right direction. Also the bottom front of my bike didn't fit together. The warden kit was a joy to put together however. Still had numbering issues in the manual. Lion El Josh
I left the Misericordia’s off my bikes. They just don’t seem to have a natural place to fit. It’s a general complaint I have with all the custodes kits. The Misericordia’s just look abit tacked on. wildweasel
I've not had an issue with the bodies of the bikes themselves. The misericordia is a weird fit behind the exhaust. CaptainMarsh
On the bike my issue is the front, with the eagle head and such. It never comes together looking right. Lord Blackwood
do they expect us to glue the ball joint into the bottom of the bike ? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344106-assembly-issues/#findComment-5007749 Share on other sites
Gentlemanloser
Yeah. They do not sit on the ball joint. I'm trying to see if i can make magnets work. The arm up pose is bad enough for transport. No way I'm gluing them to flying bases as well. noigrim
Only problem which I had with the jetbikes was the flying stand, I had to add putty so the bike would stay still Edited February 11, 2018 by noigrim Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344106-assembly-issues/#findComment-5008391 Share on other sites
swordofmandulis
I drilled out the hole underneath with a 5mm drill and fitted a 5x3 magnet, i then cut of the ball on top of the post and filed it flat, super glueing another 5mm magnet to it. It's immensely strong. I also magnetised the Lance arms for ease of transportation, a 3x2mm magnet worked perfectly here.
