Brother Darkover
In my never ending series of hobby projects, I plan on staring an AM army based on Steven Erikson's Malazan Book of the Fallen series. I already know I want to do an armoured column based on the Chain of Dogs, but I am trying to figure out the right models for Malazan marines, namely the Bridgeburners. The primary description I am building on is "...a combination of heavy infantry and shock troops - the old Emperor's invention and still unique to the Empire. They were armed with crossbows and short swords as well as long swords. They wore blackened chain beneath grey leathers." Any ideas as to what models I should use? At the moment I am thinking of Tempestus Scions arms, legs, and backpack, combined with the Empire State Troop chest piece and head. Any ideas are welcome! duz_ 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344318-malazan-infantry-models/ Share on other sites
WarriorFish
Scions sound like a good start, and mixing some WHFB bits in should help with the older feel. The fancier Scion armour will fit nicely with that too. duz_
Sounds like Anvil Industries might have some models you could use if youre happy going the non GW route. Inso
It seems to me that a good place to start would be some Normans: http://vminiatures.com/28-mm/normans/crossbowmen Then add the sci-fi bits. (The linked page has expensive, resin miniatures... there are cheaper plastic alternatives out there ;) ).
