choppyred
Thanks' RedFurioso is there much about him in Old Earth, and is it worth getting for info on Mor alone, do you think? Morovir
There's not that much on him in Old Earth. While he does get some lines, and it is highlighted how differently he pursues the war against the traitors to his brothers, he is most certainly not a main character. The Native
Book 6 goes into detail on the Battle of Bodt. Long story short, Autek Mor goes HAM on a World Eaters Recruitment/Training World. In a Legion of hard nosed bad asses he's a top tier savage. choppyred 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344332-autek-mor/#findComment-5009389 Share on other sites

Dantay VI
Bah. Mor is just a copy-cat Wolves were dropping stuff from orbit before it became cool :) Favourite piece of fluff. The fact that he is a moon dropping badass is why I would like to find out more about him! I also like that there are rumours about his origin and geneseed, does any one think that he could be a Thunder Warrior? Paradigm
Where are the thunder warrior rumors?Based on what we know about them, I don't think it is possible. While legions weren't fully homogenized genetically, it seems off that he'd be from a different lineage, either another legion or extra-legion in origin. It's certainly more interesting to see temperament variations in the Iron Hands than using gene-line as a crutch to explain behavior. Not to mention it seems very Iron-Handesque to drop a moon on someone they don't like. choppyred
I got the bit about dark rumours surrounding his geneseed/origin from Warhammer Wiki which seems to be taken from one of the black books. The Thunder Warrior stuff is just wild speculation on my part. Edit: Morovir beat me to it! bluntblade
Thing is, Mor's statline makes him an Astartes. Don't see why Ferrus would harbour a Thunder Warrior who often kills his brothers in duels. Morovir
Actually, his statline has higher Strength and Toughness, but lower Initiative. However, this is not necessarily indicative of anything, as their only Special Character in 40k (well, successor chapter) is even stronger in this regard. choppyred 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344332-autek-mor/#findComment-5010869 Share on other sites

Don't see why Ferrus would harbour a Thunder Warrior who often kills his brothers in duels. Like I say just wild speculation on my part, but from what I know Mor and Ferrus didn't get on at all. In fact I belive that Ferrus made Mor's clan a dumping ground for undesireables and renegades from within the legion. bluntblade
I find a disagreeable temperament more believable. Particularly as there seem to have been enough undesirables to place in his Clan that Morragul became known for it. I mean, he may have been a loyal Berserker of Uran, but the fluff seems to state that he was with the Storm Walkers from early on. choppyred 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344332-autek-mor/#findComment-5011130 Share on other sites

Paradigm
A lot of the rumors are in-universe, too. Like the word bearers implying the ultras had an influx of marines from the missing legions. They were talking trash about a legion they didn't like, "they're only bigger than us because they had help", sort of bs. A lot of the rumors that are attributed to people are like that in the setting. The idea that people were applying a "no true Scotsman," sour-grapes gripe against him, seems more plausible. Autek Mor's band of rogues is one of the few 30k factions that I'm really interested in for the sake of them, and not the characters instead. It was pretty hard to decide between them and the Ashen Claws. The treatment he gets in 6 and 2 is pretty amazing, and makes him in my eyes even more interesting than meduson. choppyred 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344332-autek-mor/#findComment-5011871 Share on other sites
bluntblade
I'd say less sour grapes than "he's no true brother to me, he's a psychopath". Cerbero666
"...or perhaps his bloodline were not as they should be" could mean that he is a descendant from a tyrant of Old Night. I like the idea of him being of the bloodline of some psycho warlord who dealt with dark technology during the Age of Strife. IMO That would explain his arrogance and pride, his ruthlessness and his knowledge of creepy science and tech. One of the most interesting characters coming from the black books without a doubt. choppyred and Paradigm 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344332-autek-mor/#findComment-5011945 Share on other sites
