Hey guys,

Honestly, not a great job. Ever have a mini you start with gusto, only to get bored part-way through? Meet my one of those for the month...

The "Red Hunter Veteran"

I had a little story planned out, like the only surviving member of a joint purge between Red Hunters and Grey Knights, where his armor was damaged and a dying Knight offered him the arm-armor (kind of a "you make sure you get whatever the hell we're here for getting" situation). But then when painting I just... got tired. How unlike me right? <see other low quality minis I've painted>

But here he is anyway, just as a "well at least it finished". He has a few scrapes and bruises due to being dropped at least once, and me not even going back to cover up the blotches. or the missed little red bits on the arms under the silver. Eh... better luck next life little buddy. And as I've been saying for years, I need better lighting for my photos (the simple shading I did seems gone due to the flash).

If I remember correctly (and I maybe don't!) the arm itself is from an older Grey Knight Metal figure (which i think I may have the rest of somewhere), and I essentially painted it Grey Knight while the rest of the figure was painted Red Hunter - because in my head, as I said in the original posting, it was essentially taken "from" a Grey Knight when this guy was the last survivor, and he used it to complete his mission (as GKs and RHs are both kind of Inquisition attack-dogs, I thought a combo would be kind of fun)... I just wish I hadn't lost steam part-way through, which happened once I'd undercoated, then painted all the red, did some washing/shading... and then I stopped for a few days (due to RL stuff), and lost the mojo, and then didn't want to leave him half finished.
