Hey everybody!

So in a similar vein as some of the recent Custodes jetbike conversions by Brother Bish and Rogue Crusader (Nice work by the way gents!), I thought it would be neat to see other members' various takes on the Talonmaster and even Sammael in his Sableclaw. Be they a standard LS base, or perhaps a Javelin LS, or maybe some other 3rd party bits, let's see those Talonmasters!

Personally, I am just starting my Talonmaster and am hoping to get some inspiration from your posts, but I will be using just the standard LS for mine. Hopefully sometime in the near future I can shared mine too!

-Your friendly neighborhood Fallen Angel

Funny, I was just looking for pics of this earlier. My land speeder and ravening upgrade pack are in the post.

I've pretty much got everything for my first 1500pt list in the works where with a jump pack Master (for smiter and power sword) and Talonmaster.

For the 2000 list the Master becomes a Liutenant with the same load out and the Talonmaster becomes Sammael in Sableclaw and the army gains 2 Dark Talons and a Dark shroud.

I alrwady converted Sableclaw using metal bits from old master of the RW kit and RW upgrade set and sculpting robes for both him and the gunner

For the Talonmaster i Will avoid the use of the book in the front of the LS and i will not put robes on the crew and i will put less bling in the speeder

Basically Talonmaster Will be regular RW LS with some additional bling while Sableclaw will get all the best bling

I still don't have photos of Sableclaw and must start to building the two Talonmasters but i Will try to post later something more

VH i like a lot yours LS

I see you gas my same idea to out the book only in Sableclaw and i like you used the oval bases instead of the round ones

Are those bases the 90*50mm ones?

Very nice Valorous! Yours are very similar to what I have envisioned so far. A good helping of RW bling for both while saving a little extra for Sableclaw, the book on the front in particular. I'm planning on using a robed torso and a RW beakie head for the Talonmaster but nothing too special for his gunner. Then both Sammael and his gunner will be fully robed with hooded heads like yours I think, Sheol. I have not yet worked with green stuff at all though. So, I'm hoping I can make due with my existing bits.

Yes, they are the larger ovals from the Sector Imperilus bases.

Just "finished" mine an hour ago. It still needs a few touch ups and a proper base, but it is tabletop ready so far.

I took a old 3rd edition starter set landspeeder (those with the horrible clearance), freshened it up a bit and broke down the pilot to give him a fancier helmet and the sword.

Detailwise I tried to keep it simple.

Book and sensor are mainly there to cover up bad spots. In my opinion the sensor really fits the ignore cover rule though. One Purity Seal on each side, one in front and one in back. No icon, that is reserved for Sam. The book turned out a bit dark but we all know it is a very old book :biggrin.:

The sword is my take on the Heavenfall Blade.

Edit: I needed a second Talonmaster for a game coming up. I remembered I still have a magnetized Speeder and 2 magnetized assault cannons which didnt see much use so far.
So I present to you my Standin Talonmaster Orkstyle.
Th Pilot is a do-it-yourself kind of guy, so he shoved all the stuff he needs on the passenger seat.

Here's my Sammael. Tried to paint him up to match the Corvex model as much as possible. Also some minor GS work on his robe (still need to practice heaps though!). And still got to do text on the book.

Where is Sammy left shoulder from. Did you model it yourself.

Fantastic work MaxB the sculpted robes look good from this angle and make a difference. I do like my HQs and squad leaders in robes.

Thanks man. Yep robes is what makes DA so cool imo. Though I think the Talonmaster will be more basic - the codex seems to rank him lower than Black Knights.

The shoulder pad I think came from the Dark Shroud kit - def not sculpted. It was nice and chunky compared to standard ones.

I don’t have a dark shroud yet so that sounds quite likely.

I will have to read the codex again in my mind the Lieutenant would rank only bellow the company master and the black knights are the company vets.

I had a quick read and you are correct they do rank below Black Knights. Seems an odd choice you would think The 2nd officer would be promoted from the Black Knights but there you go.

Yes I was surprised too. I took the Talonmaster more as a technical position - helping to locate and expose the enemy, directing fire - rather than a leadership position. I do like that Black Knights are so high up in the rankings - Elite of the elite, Sammael's personal crew

And here is the Darkshroud sprue. Shoulder pad is bottom right.

A landspeeder storm version would be interesting, with the assault cannons (and/or heavy bolters) done as door-gunners in the passenger compartment. That would leave the front gunner seat for the Character to stand on and wave his sword ;)

@Kierdale I did this for my Darkshroud, a chaplain in the front

I love it :tu:

Taking heads from a flying pulpit :D

In the future I intend to make the Land Speeder Storm version I mentioned above. I may as well use C:DA for my Mentors (if I ever play again. These days I just don’t have time) and make this Talon Master captain of the 10th company, scouts manning an assault cannon and heavy bolter door gun on each side. Sure, rules-wise the paired weapons have to shoot the same target. I’ll just say the pilot flies in flat-spins...

Currently unpainted, and still a WIP, but here's my Sammael in Sableclaw.

Or as someone called it: SPOILER ALERT

Future Talonmasters will be in the "normal" version.

And because I feel like it, here's also Sammael in Corvex (the original metal one too. Which means this is more of a display piece than a play piece )

I'm still working these guys up, small details still to be added, My Sammael has a different look to the GW models, he's got the feathered headress but set back to his shoulders, i figured it wouldn't really work in combat for a guy piloting a landspeeder and swotting a bad guys along the way if his helmet was even more unwieldly.

My Talonmaster echoes his Company Master but a little more subdued.

I also included my LS-Storm Darkshroud in the mix here, I prefer the LS Storm chassis, again still needs some more details but i think you can get the idea, i couldn't help popping the dude in with the AC in a helicopter style mount!
