ephrael
I’m finally ready to start on my True Scale HH army project. I have been following the excellent work of Apologist, Doghouse and lately a great blog by: https://fummelfinger.blogspot.com/2017/10/ibula-malarex-makingdeathguardgreatagain.html?m=1. I am most interested in experimenting with different methods of true scaling marines and seeing if I can come up with a skirmish level force to start playing games and expanding my force into a full sized army. Apologists excellent Iron Warriors Legion Destroyers finally inspired me to try making a few myself. I made my test mini as an IW Destroyer but I’m not sure what to build next. I’m thinking of going shattered Legions so that I can have models and Legions that I like and go from there. I could use some opinions on which head to use on my first bashed together marine so I’m going to post some pics and get some feedback. C&C welcome. On to the pics. https://imgur.com/gallery/9PkiE Edited February 15, 2018 by ephrael Grim Dog Studios, Brofist, Luna707 and 1 other 4 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344441-true-scale-skirmish-level-start-to-a-hh-warband/ Share on other sites
Soldier of Dorn
Looking good, Ephrael! That Reiver torso looks quite good with the Tartaros legs, I must say.Personally, I like the Imperial Fists helm the best, but I may have some slight bias in the matter. ephrael 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344441-true-scale-skirmish-level-start-to-a-hh-warband/#findComment-5011304 Share on other sites
Dantay VI
Looks great. I would say the IW mark 4 helm... It is one of my personal favourites for my Wolves, however I think the little additional vent/pod/bits either side of the mask mimic the original destroyer helms best. I like the IF helm also and the Sarum helm in those orders 1 IW mark 4 helm 2 IF mark 3 helm 3. Mark 5 Sarum helm ephrael 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344441-true-scale-skirmish-level-start-to-a-hh-warband/#findComment-5011357 Share on other sites
apologist
I love the brutal look of Mark V, and the studs are echoed nicely by those on the shins. Since you're going Iron Warriors, the studs give some nice physical texture that helps to add interest to the scheme, too. That said, they all look great; probably because the body is so cool – nice work! Looking forward to seeing where you take 'em. ephrael 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344441-true-scale-skirmish-level-start-to-a-hh-warband/#findComment-5011397 Share on other sites
Luna707
I vote the MkIV Iron Warrior helm or the MkV helm Looking great! Always awesome to see more Truscale Astartes ephrael 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344441-true-scale-skirmish-level-start-to-a-hh-warband/#findComment-5011627 Share on other sites
Grim Dog Studios
I must say I've been struggling to think of a way to true-scale some heresy era marines for a while and I think you've hit the nail on the head. A bit of greenstuff between the Tartaros abdomen plate and the reiver chest piece would make it look closer to MK IV armour in my opinion. Helmet-wise I like the look of the MK V so that gets my vote! ephrael 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344441-true-scale-skirmish-level-start-to-a-hh-warband/#findComment-5011672 Share on other sites
ephrael
Looking good, Ephrael! That Reiver torso looks quite good with the Tartaros legs, I must say. Personally, I like the Imperial Fists helm the best, but I may have some slight bias in the matter. I really like the IF helmet as well but I think I’m going with the MK V helm this time Looks great. Mark 5 Sarum helm Thanks Dantay, I’m going to use the IW helmets more for my tactical marines. I want to copy the rag tag and scavenged appereance of the traitor Legions closer to the siege of Terra that Apologist has perfected. Tank you for your feedback and praise Apologist, it means the world to me! You know I’ve been following/stalking your work for years and it’s the inspiration for these marines. I vote the MkIV Iron Warrior helm or the MkV helm Looking great! Always awesome to see more Truscale Astartes Thank you Luna707, your truescale marines put mine to shame but I’m striving to make something special like all of you before me. Thank you Centurion Jay constructing the first one was fairly straightforward as the Primaris parts scale really well with the terminator stuff. I’m not a fan of the Reivers legs so I’m going to try sculpting over them for MK II Armour. I’m definitely going to fill in the gap in the torso like you suggested, it’s a great idea. I’ve started on a second marine today and I have a wip pic to share. Sorry it’s a link again, I need to look up the instructions for embedding the image later today. https://imgur.com/gallery/Mwbp2 Luna707 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344441-true-scale-skirmish-level-start-to-a-hh-warband/#findComment-5012137 Share on other sites
