Thank you all guys so much !!!

Lion is at the top of my ‘to do’ list. I plan to preorder him this Saturday. I was not so keen on his aged look at first but in time I started to get used to his new appearance and now I know that I will be painting him bareheaded

Great work! There's really nothing about your paintjob that looks anything less than superb!

It's a shame though that even your Godlike painting can't make the new Combi-Bolter any better. Makes me a bit reluctant to pick up the model myself.

That classic bolter was so sweet.  I understand why they thought the change would look better... but it just doesn't.  We gotta wait until some sweet 3d prints pop up

Brothers,

I managed to grab the Lion! One of my local gaming stores had one last box !

Can't express how happy I am now. Didn't get the ltd editions of the AoO book V and Lion novel but at least I got our Primarch!

Assembly in progress :)

Hi Guys!

It took me over 3 weeks to finish the Primarch. Lion is such a complex build with all those floating robes and details that I had to literally paint every part separately to get everywhere with paint. I have to say now after completing it that I really love the sculpt ! Fantastic addition to any Dark Angel/Successor army!

"For the Lion" has completely new meaning now :) Sooo glad that He has finally returned !

Wow oh wow! Well worth the effort. I hope you find some recognition for this piece outside of the B&C. I’ve seen dozens of Lion paint jobs now, and I’m not sure I could put into words how far you’ve been able to take this model to the next level.

Thank you again - it means so much !!!

I also know that you may be tired seeing so many Lions out there recently but I have to share what I did to mine few days ago:

I wasn't really happy with how his cape and robes turned out. I think that I overdid the pattern on the cape and robes. He didn't quite fit with the rest of my army due to the lighter hues of the green. I just had to repaint all the green. Some WIP shots of the robes:

Capes comparison old vs new:

I don't know how about you but I prefer the new look :)

Wow. The whole mini is gorgeous, but I especially like how you did the hair. The desaturated blonde gray is perfect.

Any chance of sharing the colours you used for that? :)

The old cape is a testament to skill, but it does look a bit busy, so I think your decision to change it was the right one

Lolz, I preferred the patterned one, but your standard is so high I love them both.

And you need to be as happy as possible with your work so kudos for being brave enough to do the re-do.

Marvelous work! I've got to say that I preferred the patterned cape as well, just because it was painted masterfully. It still read as green, but contained a work of art for anyone that took a closer look. Allthough, the plain cloak seems more fitting for our practical Lion. It's still an exquisite paintjob, I don't think I would've had the heart to redo something of that scale :turned:.
