Jackalwolf
So really needed to at least try to make this happen. I´ve tried to make the Redemptor smaller and conform the old historic shape of our box dread whilst keeping it´s much improved proportions (now I can believe there´s a corpse in that sarcophagus). Areas in green stuff look a bit rough but are smooth so with primer they´ll look as new For scale: Height wise is like a Contemptor but with the bulk of a Castaferrum. What do you think guys? Need help in one point in particular: I´m looking for the perfect bit to put in the two spaces the side panels of the sarcophagus have open, some sort of sensor array that goes horizontally from the sarcophagus base and shows in the empty area but cannot find or think of an adequate piece! Wispy
i love it, but i think you should reconsider and use the redemptor arms and feat. using the old dreadnought arms creating some awkward proporttions, having stubby t-rex arms. Kasper_Hawser
Oh my Lord, that is very nice. Somehow managed to make it look like the venerable boxnought we all love and this time with fully articulated legs! I was thinking of using the box body with redemptor legs but just wasn't big enough. This version looks fantastic, even the arms don't look that out of proportion. infyrana
Looks great, pretty seamless flow with the original - can't wait to see it painted up :) Speaking of which - will you be using the same colours as that primaris captain next to it? I really like the way you've painted him up and the shades of grey used, do you have the recipe online anywhere please? Dantay VI
Yeah, I am also looking forward to the paintjob. Are you going to do him the same colour scheme as your heresy Wolves, or do you plan to do the 40K blue grey. The Red Scorpion primaris looks really good. Karack Blackstone
Sweet. Tutorial please? The proportions are great, vastly better than the older sculpt of the Castaferrum, just, for its time, the Casta' is a tried and true design, the model on the other hand, needs help. As I learned in the FFG Deathwatch RPG, most typically, any and all Astartes interred into a Dreadnought, no matter the form, have their arms and legs removed during said internment process. It's not like they're going to be getting out and about on their own any more. Sad, however, that is the apparent fluff nature of why normal Dread's have such a small Sarcophagus area normally. Jackalwolf
Thanks mate, It´s already mostly complete but took some pictures from the Dreadnought before final assembly so you can see what I did: NightHowler, Huggtand, Oshikai and 2 others 5 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344486-bjorn-the-fell-handed-true-scale-redemptor-conversion/#findComment-5019409 Share on other sites
Jackalwolf
So changed direction. Whilst I liked the results, the size difference was just too much to justify using it in game without any challenges. So I went back to the drawing board to see how could I true scale Bjorn whilst leaving it proportional to the other Dreadnought classes. And the answer came from the warhounds from titanicus. I feel like giving it decently sized legs adds to it's presence and height without bringing it out of the range of how big a castaferrum is. What do you think guys? ranulf the revenant
So the previous conversion will work as a Redemptor? I think it works very well. But this might also require some WIP pictures Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344486-bjorn-the-fell-handed-true-scale-redemptor-conversion/#findComment-5364334 Share on other sites

Jackalwolf
Thanks guys. I'm on a trip now but I'll post pictures of the legs when I'm back. Essentially it's the warhound hip and legs, cut at the second knee joint and then melded with the shin armour and ankle joint of the fw sw Dreadnought, carved so it fits. Then for the hip joint, I overlayed the normal Dreadnought connection on top of the warhound hip and sanded it to take some height away. The only step not here since I need to procure the parts is I intend to place on the top of the legs the contemptor upper leg plates to finish it off. sbarnby71
I'm loving the upper body on this new conversion, but just feel the thigh sections looks a little skinny, you know when you see those body builders who skip "leg day" or when you see a kid wearing their parents shoes.
