Hello there,

Just wanted to drop the question if and what novels, shorts, etc. about the Imperial Fists you would recommend?

By now, I've read the Crimson Fist and the Lightning Tower, which were quite good.

I'm aware of Praetorian of Dorn, but that's more of an Alpha Legion story, right?

There was one about Lysander, if I remember correctly.

Eager to hear your thoughts about this. :smile.:

cheers,

Kel

The entire beast arises series is pretty focused on the sons of Dorn, both the Imperial fist but much more the general relationship and bond between the second founding chapters. It also drop some pretty big historic facts on what may be the imperial fists greatest and darkest hours.

While the Beast Arises series has some hits and misses, the events in the series heavily involve the Imperial Fists and there successors.

You already mentioned Crimson Fist and Praetorian of Dorn. Pick up POD, great novel for Fist fans.

Another book I recommend, even though it's not technically a Imperial Fist novel is Storm of Iron. What a fantastic novel that feature the Fists. I enjoyed their role in that as well.

I really am hoping for new Imperial Fist novels set in the Indomitus Crusade/Dark Imperium era.

Praetorian of Dorn is an amazing book. It's a textbook example of properly balancing both sides of conflict, where both come of as flawed, but really competent at the same time.

I liked Templar audiodrama. I thought it was really neat for a fairly short piece.

And as others have said, Beast Arises has some great stuff for those that like scions of Dorn.

PoD also features one of my favorite Traitor Legions...I'm intrigued to give this one a try.

I somewhere read that PoD also got some void actions. How are these?

I found the the climactic one kind of meh, perhaps a little too large-scale for French to write comfortably. There are some smaller scenarios that I think he kills, though.

Also, read Space Marine, some of the best atmosphere in a 40k book, and it goes into some of the semi-abandoned Fists lore (eg: The Magic Pain Glove.)

"Yet still, there was to be a branding upon the leather-tough buttocks: an imprint of a clenched fist, no larger than a fingernail. Only, this was indeed to be an honour - for the Sergeant himself personally wielded the electro-iron when Lexandro, Yeremi, and Biff bent over to flex the great gluteal muscles of their rumps."

that's the good stuff

Here are a few about Lysander you might enjoy: Endeavor of Will, Malodrax, and Seventh Retribution. Endeavor of Will really gets into the gritty and sometimes nasty reality of being around in the 41st millennium and shows Lysander make some pretty tough choices to get the upper hand on his enemies. Malodrax and Seventh Retribution are centered around Imperial Fists conflicts with the forces of Chaos, and Malodrax is a favorite of mine because it also goes into some of the details about Lysander's backstory and how he came to be the Chapter legend he is known as. Praetorian of Dorn is an amazing read, well worth the time of any fan of either the Alpha Legion or Imperial Fists.
