Hi all,

I'm trying to maintain the Khorne theme of my army but am struggling to influence opposition deployment strategy (as I do when using ratlings/scout marines).

Nurglings are the ideal unit for this and ensure a decent deepstrike zone for the bloodletter bombs.

With the above in mind, do any of you fine warmongers have any third party suppliers that might be able to provide Khorne style large base swarms? GW Nurglings are just too fat and rotten.

Thanks in advance,

Rat

Depending on your proficiency/comfort with Green Stuff, grabbing some Rat swarms from Age of Sigmar and adding horns, blades, teeth, etc. Might be a ticket.

Alternatively, could get some Spirit Hosts, cut them down a bit, and use the cut bits + Green Stuff for malevolent Daemon Apparitions. Several Daemon stories made it sound like the very air tried to murder them in Khornes influence... Now it could!

Cheers for the advice peeps.

I am utterly garbage at sculpting.... id struggle to sculpt a ball of bluetack!

As to the spirit host point, nice! I think theyre my ticket! Low toughness, but surprisingly resilient :)

Ill have to give them a go!

Thanks again!

You're probably going to want to cut them down a bit, so that they can at least emulate the height of the Nurgling's they're going to represent stat-wise. It'll also help their stability - they're modelled to come from a single piece rising from a grave/skeleton/etc, so cutting that down should give you a wider base to work with (also some extra bits to make them a little more to your liking).

Yeh I never play tourneys so the size issue is down to opposition grace.

As they have no shooting ability then it seems like I am the only one to have to work with a negative.

If I go to a tourney ill just slap some nurglings down properly and to hell with my theme of khorne only...

Thats cool but can be shut down by scouts. The epic thing about Nurglings is that they deploy in normal sequence. I cant tell you the number of games where an enemy has placed a scout wall as his first two drops.... With no shooting to clear them off its an entire turn delay to bloodbomb. The alpha legion would not be be able to infiltrate in this scenario.
