NTaW
Anyone have any experience here? I'm going to be playing a narrative campaign over the next few months against a friend who plays Nids, haven't faced them with Crons since last edition. Specifically what sort of tricks should I watch out for with stratagems and general sneakiness. Thanks! :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344604-tactics-v-tyranids/ Share on other sites
Arachnofiend
Typical advice of screening with scarabs applies as it does against any assault army. The problem is that Tyranids aren't necessarily an assault army and come with some extremely powerful shooting as well; you should especially fear hive guard and biovores. Tyriks
Pure tyranids or GSC allies? I have yet to play Tyranids but GSC were tough for me. I kept getting locked in unexpectedly so I wish I had done more bubble wrapping. Plus some of their stuff is surprisingly tough! I think I have 10 Scarab bases currently, will definitely be using them as screen units. Is Tyranid shooting held to the same 24-36" range that most of ours is or can they strike out a full on 48"? I'm not looking forward to getting charged, but it will have me working on squad deployment and movements more for sure!
