beat_ronin
Hi everyone. I'm building an Imperialis Militia force to represent the Skitarii regiments of Ryza (cyber augmetics, warrior elite provenances and grenadiers as troops). They'll be allies to my Ryza Mechanicum. I'm thinking of converting some 40k Kastelan robot kits into manned mecha-type walkers, to count as scout sentinels. I'm wondering if people think these are an OK size for a sentinel stand-in? With a tank commander type model piloting where the bot's head is. In my mind's eye the two seem roughly the same height, the Kastelan is not quite as bulky up top but bulkier in the legs. I reckon they'd be fine, but my mind's eye might be wrong! Any opinions appreciated. shandwen
Sentinels are a bit taller. Perhaps about an inch (depending on cage and all). beat_ronin 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344617-counts-as-help-for-sentinels/#findComment-5015659 Share on other sites

That's more of a difference than I thought. Might have to do some creative basing. Memento Of Prospero
Using the mechanicum chickens would be best. Castellans are very bulky and great castellax alternatives shandwen 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344617-counts-as-help-for-sentinels/#findComment-5015681 Share on other sites
Supe robot gangster #1
Why not use the sydonian dragoon’s or whatever they are called? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344617-counts-as-help-for-sentinels/#findComment-5015758 Share on other sites
beat_ronin
Well, I don't want to use the Sydonians for a couple of reasons. Firstly, aren't they super tall? I'm pretty sure the Kastelans are closer to a Sentinel's size than they are. Secondly, and more importantly, they are very expensive and I am a frugal gamer Supe robot gangster #1 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344617-counts-as-help-for-sentinels/#findComment-5015765 Share on other sites

carlisimo
I think I’d have a hard time thinking of Kastellan robots as Sentinels when there are so many robots in 30k. And Sentinels cost less, at least here. The Sydonian Dragoon is the way to go if you can afford it, but if not just try to add some leftover Mechanicum/AdMech bits onto those Sentinels. NemoVonUtopia
The main problem with dragoons, other than being horribly expensive, is that they have a wide stance and come with oval bases. I think it would be a ton of work to try and make them fit on the smaller round bases sentinels come on. Noserenda
Id use the dragoons, you can always use a bigger base than supplied ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344617-counts-as-help-for-sentinels/#findComment-5016461 Share on other sites
