Vorenus
Rubricae have the Psyker key word for their unit. If the Aspiring Sorcerer rolls Perils, who takes the Mortal Wound(s)? Raven1
The answer is there is no clear answer yet, and GW didn't use the FAQ that was released to clear it up. bozo69pd
I make the Psyker take the perils because that clearly makes sense. He casted, he perils. Xenith
I make the Psyker take the perils because that clearly makes sense. He casted, he perils. Only dumb psykers suffer the consequences of their actions. Thee thousand sons would drain the essence of their rubric marines to protect themselves, safe in the knowledge they can pull the rubric souls back from the warp. Thee thousand sons would drain the essence of their rubric marines to protect themselves, safe in the knowledge they can pull the rubric souls back from the warp. This might be accurate; however, it's worth noting that Aspiring Sorcerers are pulled from Tzeentchian cults (they aren't usually original Legionnaires) according to the last (unboxed) paragraph of the "Sorcerers" description on page 38 of the codex. Furthermore, the rebinding ritual is extremely dangerous, as "a single misspoken syllable can kill the intoner or drive them insane." (pg 40) Furthermore, one hardly knows how much assistance the Rubricae can provide in a Perils of the Warp type situation; considering the intrinsic stasis of their souls, it may be like trying to put a fire out with an ice cube---too little is there to matter, and in the wrong form to help at all. Raven1
If we are going to have a conversation about how the rules work we should leave fluff out of it. Though with the Rubric marine unit having psyker keyword I think there is an honest argument to be made that the unit itself suffers D3 mortal wounds. Skerr
I could see that though why would SO Sorcerers not benefit the same way for consistency? Seems it would be a side effect or benefit of the rubric spell and SOT should have it for consistency if that was indeed the designer intent. My argument/ issue applies equally to Scarab Occult as it does to Rubric marines. Except they have the added advantage of having 2 wounds a model. Skerr
It could be an internal balance as to why due to 2 wounds, I suppose. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344654-perils-of-the-warp/#findComment-5019269 Share on other sites

I believe "RAW" as of the moment the "unit" suffers D3 mortal wounds, and then anything within...what was it? 3 inchs? of any member of the unit suffers D3. Is this how grey knights peril? Given that they are similar in form/function. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344654-perils-of-the-warp/#findComment-5019300 Share on other sites
