So I'm collecting a Imperial fist 30k army, but built for playing with 40k rules. I want to be able to include primaris units, because I can't see regular marines getting many new units going forward, but I'd like them to fir the HH theme.

Has anyone found any good "counts as" models I could used instead? I'd considered using mechanics model from FW, like Thallax or Usrax models as Interceptors, or vorax battle automata as Aggressors.

Just a suggestion. I think your best bet might be to kit bash heads and shoulder pads from 30 K models onto the Primaris line. That leaves the breastplate as your major obstacle. With careful trimming and green stuff that should (?) be a doable conversion at minimal investment.

I'd hoped to be able to avoid actually using primaris models. My reason is that primaris are an anachronism in HH, but if I could get models that look like they'd be tougher than normal marines, then I could count them as primaris without breaking lore I.E. Mechanicus automata
