Valhallan are good but all of the regiments have a potentially powerful advantage.

Valhallan helps with taking damage.

Cadian makes you more accurate.

Tallarn lets you move with less worries.

Catachan gives you more shots.

Mordian lets you overwatch twice as well.

Vostroyan lets you hit from farther.

Each of these are powerful abilities but which is best is very debatable. I prefer Catachan because I like cannon fire and getting one shot sucks. If you regularly see your tanks surviving on a few wounds and wish they could still help more, then Valhallan is for you.

In a game where things die so quickly, defensive regimental abilities are not as good I think. If you think about it, Valhalla will only affect one tank a turn, if that (assuming your opponent kills one before moving on to the next). Catachan, Cadian, Tallarn and Vostroyan all help with more/better shooting on all vehicles every turn. Tallarn also helps with movement, but again effects all of your vehicles every turn.

Personally unless you have something like a Banablade I don't think it is worth it, even with a bane blade I think the offensive doctrines are better.
