Wargamer
Just for reference, I was wondering if Deathwatch can include Primaris units (I don't have Chapter Approved yet). If so, do they get anything unique and fun? How do they differ from "codex" Primaris units? Halandaar
Yes they can include them, and no, there's nothing special about them. Eligible units and points costs here. Prot
Yes, the interesting one is the Apothecary since they are otherwise off limits. Hellblasters are probably still the go to ;} Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344869-primaris-deathwatch/#findComment-5022168 Share on other sites
Wargamer
Eh... I might hold fire until the Codex. I want Deathwatch at some point and I enjoyed building the Primaris kits, but I don't want more standard Marines. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344869-primaris-deathwatch/#findComment-5022177 Share on other sites

I think a lot of us are working on other projects while waiting, since if it's anything like the switch from 7th, a lot of things will (hopefully) change. Prot
Yup just waiting... and waiting... and waiting. :) I think everyone is cautious right now since the army is really not competitive right now. So just cross your fingers, and don't buy into anything too heavily yet. robofish7591
I hope primaris get to mix and match gear like a normal killteam does. I will be kind of disappointed if they end up just be codex space marines in a different codex. Wargamer
A part of me is hoping you can mix Primaris and True Marines together in a Kill-Team. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344869-primaris-deathwatch/#findComment-5022701 Share on other sites

Boyadventurer
The wait is killing me! I haven't touched my regular DW army since CA made Primaris cheaper than vets, and I'm all set to pop silver shoulders on my primaris stuff but what's the point if the codex drops and they're just going to be regular primaris with a new CT. Haven't heard a single thing about DW in any of the codex rumours (or GSC for that matter). Even knights are getting some rumours.I'll have to keep content scouring ebay for the odd times someone has one of the FFG books for cheap in the meantime. Thanatos31
please do yourself a favor and take the primaris in a seperate SpaceMarine RavenGuard detachment, then supplement with Killteams. Its the most viable thing you can do. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344869-primaris-deathwatch/#findComment-5025348 Share on other sites
Reyner
I am plan on keeping my Deathwatch pure - nothing against Primaris at all just don't want to use them in my Deathwatch army (different time period and all that :) ) infyrana 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344869-primaris-deathwatch/#findComment-5026840 Share on other sites
Scurvydog
As mentioned there is no benefit to running deathwatch primaris. You can freely paint them as such if you like and play them in a detachment with other chapter tactics, I doubt anyone would complain about that. Interested in seeing the codex as currently Primaris marines are the exact opposite of what Deathwatch is, which is about cusotmized killteams and highly experienced individuals supporting each other. A squad of hellblasters does not make much sense in that regard. From a modeling perspective I do find it interesting to consider primaris as being part of killteams and use an aggressor as count as terminator, or Reiver as a vanguard, but I do not know if the fluff supports this at all, but that is how I think it would actually work for the deathwatch. From the dark imperium books I could also see some rejected primaris (space wolves maybe) going as blackshields to a watch fortress.
