Delta.Skies
Hello Everyone, *SN: First Post On Here* I just got back started into W40k and Death Watch resonated with me ( was a Grey Knights Fan but eh.) After doing some research and whatnot, I wanted to share some fluff and color scheme and get an outlook so i can see where I wanted to go with the rest of it, so bare with me. Fluff: - Basically wanted to create a backstory that involved a librarian / inquisitor that believed that within the Xenos areas lied the possibility of higher intelligence and Chaos intertwining with that intelligence and manipulating the alien race to become far more of a threat than these two enemies separate. Thus venturing out for technology, and possibility. Believing that Xenos raiders would be the link, he favored going after Orkz and Dark Eldar, but feared the spread of Tyranids for Chaos knows no boundaries. However aside from having his own regiment of militarum (Scions) he believed that he needed the Deathwatch, but not just the Deathwatch themselves, but Black Shields, for the sole reason he needed soldiers that believed in his cause. So Black Shields were the valid option from the Deathwatch *insert more fluff that involves Deathwatch (havent gotten truly that far into this fluff) but you get my drift. List would mostly be - Librarian - Watch Captain (For Bigger Battles) - Primaris (to fill out the list and their awesome, aggressors and what not) - 2 Kill Teams (Frag Cannons) - Scions to fill out the list ( and they're cool as hell ) - And so forth ( still building this list ) Color Scheme: - As far as color scheme, I appreciate the Deathwatch color scheme but wanted to challenge myself based on my fluff. After browsing I came across this model and the color scheme just wowed me. http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt219/DeltaSkies/1846be416890917633fffe5285f16eac1_zpsppxwbvcx.jpg I love the grey and wanted to do a lighter armor color (cross between black and this grey ) but definitely wanted to keep the silver arms, however Im at a cross roads about the grey, and accent colors to compliment this grey while adhering to Deathwatch theme. Any suggestions or opinions would be appreciated. Im just starting out, so all that is said and read is greatly valued and taken into consideration and direction I want to go. Cause we all know, supplies, paint, and models are expensive. Duke Danse Macabre
Sadly the picture won't show but the fluff sounds cool, home lore deathwatch are just something that's so cool and easy to make. Have you considered the list yet or have any models you own you want to use or are you building a fresh force with the list and idea first? So a list and idea first, Im still learning the rules and deployments for match play. I came in from 5th edition and adjusting to 8th. Duke Danse Macabre
That's one beautiful looking scheme, if you can pull it off I say go for it, really stands our and gives and sense of movement through contrast. If your still at the building stage I suggest deciding 9n points for the list, I personally aim 2k as that allots you to be able to play most games. You planning a more all comers thematic list or pure fluff? Also how do you feel about primarus marines in general? Also how do you feel about primarus marines in general? think i came from where it was 500 pts , 1000 pts 1500 then 2000 both ( if im able to get into tournaments ) but more so fluff wise and I plan on using primaris marines. more so the aggressors, thought about a primaris librarian but you cant fly in a blackstar. Maybe throw in a primaris apothecary. Also thinking about tanks but we will see when i plan on a 2000 pt army Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/345064-deathwatch-fluff-color-scheme/#findComment-5027475 Share on other sites
