Eyeing up Imperial Fists / Blackshields

So I've spent most of my lunch break staring at Templar Brethren and I think I'm sold. 

 

I really like the look of the models, and I have a soft spot for boarding teams in general so I feel like Fists would be the Legion to go with if/when I get into this game.

 

Anyone got feedback on using these guys? Are they worth having in a force or are they just here to look good?

 

I guess an obvious follow on would be what's a good starting list, keeping my fondness for Templar Brethren and breacher siege squads in mind.

 

Edit: Watched a Youtube video on Blackshields and they've intrigued me as well... in part because it seems like I could make a unique heraldry (yeah, I am basically trying to find an excuse to use the force in 30K and 40K, so sue me! :P ) so any feedback on the Blackshields, keeping in mind my Fists preferences above are also welcome.
