Overwatch out of open topped vehicles?

Depends entirely upon if the transport's 'Open Topped' rule allows this to happen. By default the answer is No per transports sidebar on pg. 183.

Hmm. Dark Eldar raider says models can shoot out of it but doesn’t specify overwatch

 

Edit:” can attack in the shooting phase”, so I’d guess no since overwatch is a different phase

First sentence of the Open Topped rule for the Raider on pg. 56 of Index: Xenos I specifically calls up the Shooting Phase. Overwatch does not normally happen in the shooting phase.

In one of the faqs ( or maybe stepping into a new edition FAQ) it specially says you can't shoot over watch from an open topped transport.
