Lord Kallozar
Could you please help telling me which chaos or loyalist space marine forces are siege/machine specialists. I only know of the obvious - iron warriors and imperial Fists. There must be others right? Thanks. Guest
Death Guard kinda? They would poison/gas their opponents and slowly move forward to ensure a total path of destruction. With the new 40k Plague Burst Crawler it seems they have reinforced this idea. Rik Lightstar
Imperial Fists, Iron Warriors and Astral Claws all have a lot of siege based background for either attacking or defending. Corswain
You’ve ticked off the obvious ones. If you don’t want Iron Warriors of Fists maybe just make up a warband or successor Chapter. Gives you some freedom. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/345325-siege-specialist-armies/#findComment-5034021 Share on other sites
MARK0SIAN
The Excoriators are famed attrition fighters. I’m going from memory so you might want to double check what I’m saying but I believe they’re a successor chapter of the Imperial Fists who were formed from the most stubborn wall defenders during the siege of Terra, hence their preference for attrition warfare and good defensive skills. Not sure if that fits what you want as the idea of attrition warfare seems a bit counter to what Space Marines are for given that a chapter wouldn’t really have the numbers to sustain it for long but it’s something different to IF and Iron Warriors. Of course, if it’s a love for the siege machines and vehicles themselves then both Salamanders and Iron Hands are both renowned for their artifice in creating and maintaining their war machines so it seems reasonable they would possess a higher than average number of siege machines. One of the salamanders early battles as a legion was an underground campaign against a lot of ancient tech machines etc. They used a lot of assault drills etc and Forgeworld have made some nice models you could use for those. SickSix
There are small hints or references that suggest Silver Skulls might be decent siege breakers. Nothing obvious though...
