Axineton
So Dark Vengeance arrived today still sealed but the Terminator Sargeants sword is broken which I'm assuming happened in transit as the whole box was still factory sealed. Anyway heres some pics and I wonder if the B&C experst on such things will know and give me some guidance on how to fix. My brain is telling me to just glue it back together but I thought I'd ask here. and another one Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/345397-is-this-salvageable/ Share on other sites
Major_Gilbear
I have that model, and the sword blade is very thin... even for pinning. Not to mention that making the join invisible mid-blade is going to be extremely difficult. :( I would email the seller (or GW) in the first instance, assuming you bought DV from a store. They might be able to replace the model/sprue, or at least give you a partial refund if not. For a repair, you could bits-order a replacement sword (like this for example) and swap out the whole thing from the crossguard up, pinning it into the hand. Axineton
It was an ebay purchase and I actually asked the seller for a tracking number for the postage cos he used Hermes and I hate Hermes!! but alas he never replied to that message and I don't hold much hope for him replying to another. Ill take up your suggestion of swapping out the whole thing. Subtle Discord
You can do amazing things with some thin styrene solvent glue to fuse parts together, and then when it's completely dry follow up with fine sanding sticks and/or sandpaper to smooth the join to invisibility. That said, if it's a new purchase I would try to get a replacement if possible. In this case, as Gilbear said, making the repair would be very tricky to pull off seamlessly given the unclean break that's happened.
