zero88
On the question of Chapter Tactics, would it be permissible to run them as say, Blood Angels? (Minus the special characters of course). BA have the closest rule set to represent Imperial Bezerkers, and Minotaurs have no defined parent chapter. The other one I think fits is White Scars, and being able to not get bogged down in combat is a nice perk for an army that wants to be in melee as much as possible and as quickly as possible. (Which is what I want). Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/345509-minotaurs-chapter-tactics/ Share on other sites
old git
There was a thread a while ago discussing Minotaurs and appropriate chapter tactics. Some leaked screen shots of online chats between a FW writer and a friend of his suggests that Minotaurs use untainted Iron Warriors geneseed. Brother Casman
I've split this into it's own topic, so to avoid necroposting. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/345509-minotaurs-chapter-tactics/#findComment-5038792 Share on other sites
Bronze Beast in the Dark
I'm using Iron Hands to represent the tenacious spirit of the Minotaurs. Even if you don't know their parent chapter, you must still choose a parent from within your own codex and not from another codex, and C:SM are different from BA. In reality? Most people would be fine with it. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/345509-minotaurs-chapter-tactics/#findComment-5039357 Share on other sites

MillionsSons
I'm considering using the Salamanders one, to reflect the fact that Minotaurs as per lore benefit from exceptional wargear via their direct support from HIgh Lords of Terra And I think it's probably the most powerful chapter tactics. "You can re-roll a single failed hit roll and a single failed wound roll made for a Salamanders unit with this tactic each time it shoots or fights." Rik Lightstar
I use the Salamanders Tactics for my Mantis Warriors, it's fantastic, although I am tempted to try out the Ultramarines too. zero88
Salamanders is definitely a good one. Besides white scars I think that one fits well too. The argument could be made for Iron Hands as well. Shoot, even Black Templars fits, but I would never use it since boss man Moloc is providing it in his bubble anyways Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/345509-minotaurs-chapter-tactics/#findComment-5041288 Share on other sites
Race Bannon
Could it be, that one could really use any Chapter Tactics they want per game? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/345509-minotaurs-chapter-tactics/#findComment-5041300 Share on other sites
MillionsSons
Could it be, that one could really use any Chapter Tactics they want per game? Yes that's how it works. For tournaments though I don't know if they force you to choose the tactic at the beginning of the tournament ? For tournaments though I don't know if they force you to choose the tactic at the beginning of the tournament ? Likely. So, for "practice", it would be a matter of picking one, and playing to it's strengths. Naturally, this would help with unit selection, tactics, yards yadda yadda. The point is, for this thread, that each Minotaur player should decide for themselves what CT they want their version to employ to have fun ^_^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/345509-minotaurs-chapter-tactics/#findComment-5041700 Share on other sites
Bronze Beast in the Dark
I thought we were just chatting about what is used and how to go about using more interesting ones, not convincing other to do it a certain way. RandomMarine
I use the chapter keyword Red scorpions for my IH successor as it give me access to some solid fw characters but I can still use the IH chapter tactics and strategms Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/345509-minotaurs-chapter-tactics/#findComment-5046929 Share on other sites
