Ulrik_Ironfist
I need some help. I want to use Inquisitors, but I need some help with conversion ideas. I was going to use some scions as a base, but my GS skills are not so sharp. Tips, tricks, inspirational photos? Ranulf
Scions legs or IG command squad officer legs paired with torsos from the GSC or Admech Skitaraii lines are a good starting point. Apply your Google-fu to the Inq28 keyword - there’s a limitless supply of ideas out there. - Ran Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/346110-inquisitor-conversion-ideas/#findComment-5052741 Share on other sites
Plasmablasts
Investigate the Age of Sigmar range also: some of the old Empire range is a good source of bits. Kinstryfe
Imho, above anything you want character in the model. Inquisitors are highly varied and unique individuals, so there's likely almost no way to do it wrong unless the pieces just don't fit together. I'm sure there are some Inquisitors who at a glance look much like your standard Arbites officer, Guard Commissar, or Ministorum Priest, while others are going to be clad in archaic Xenos armor with exotic archaeotech, wearing golden power armour with bound daemon weapons covered in seals of binding, or shriveled husks with blinded eyes who interact with the world solely thru their psychic abilities. Basically, get some parts, go nuts, and have fun making up a neat backstory. Ulrik_Ironfist
I'm actually considering this from a gameplay angle. Since I'm using regular Specialist Inquisitors (as a generalist option) as my inspiration, I need them to look correct. I don't want guys in hulking power armor, as their save won't reflect it. I was thinking I'd try to greenstuff a tabbard and a cloak and hood onto a mostly scion model. I also thought I'd try to GS a hammer together. Tyr13
The old Warhammer witch hunter is a pretty decent choice as a base, and favored by many. IG commissars can work well, too. Scions... probably not *as* much. They look too uniform for a really unique look.Though some scion bits can obviously work - weapons, heads, that kind of stuff. Really, Id just browse the webstore for some neat stuff. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/346110-inquisitor-conversion-ideas/#findComment-5053127 Share on other sites
Plasmablasts
And, if you haven’t already, read the Eisenhorn and Ravenor books: plenty of Inquisitors and their appearances described there for inspiration. sockwithaticket
Do you need to stay GW/FW? There's lots of 3rd party stuff out there, particularly female inquisitors (or models that can be used as such) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/346110-inquisitor-conversion-ideas/#findComment-5053375 Share on other sites

I play Imperial Guard, and I play Cadians, so my Scions are old metal Kasrkin. I have little use for the newer scions, despite having a bunch of them. Danny Cyanide
What else do you have availible bits wise? I'd think right off the bat, a head swap, some kind of sweet looking shoulder pads and some archaic/different looking weapons would be a good place to start. Ulrik_Ironfist
I have space wolves bits that I can use to source thunder hammers. I want to avoid power armor bits though, since average inquisitors don't get that. I was also going to try green stuff to make robes and tabbards and hoods. The heads were going to be masked scion heads. I'm kinda planning to repaint my Scions as an inquisitorial detachment so that they might actually see use on the tabletop. allegedlynerdy
Well, this is an Inquisitor I threw together recently: It's mostly a Tempestor from the Scions kit, but a space Marine head (which is a little large but not bad) and a pistol from the fantasy empire general kit, which I'm using to represent a needle pistol, but really you could call it any pistol, maybe even a Stormbolter since it has two barrels. Also did some cutting to fit a Powersword onto his hand instead of the puny knife. Throw on a servoskull I had lying around (I think from the Cadian Command Squad kit) and you have an Inquisitor. Danny Cyanide
Scion torso These shoulder pads: http://anvilindustry.co.uk/Regiments/regiments-shoulder-pads/eagle-shoulder-pads Tricorn head: http://anvilindustry.co.uk/Regiments/Infantry-Heads-Helmets/tricorne-hats Add a nice cloak: http://anvilindustry.co.uk/Regiments/cloaks-banners-officers/officer-upgrade-one Then you could do some small sculpting, a couple of Inquisition symbols and bam, you've got an Inquisitor!
