Not sure if this is posted in correct area, but I am getting back into Templars after shelving them in 5th Ed.

Looking for tactics and help list building a black Tide list to run along my guard.

Is it plausible to be effective in a 835pt range? Please help.

I'm looking at running massed crusader squads on foot, with buffers. Not sure what loadouts are best this edition, plus I'm currently stuck on the best options with only 835 points to spend. If it works best at 1000 maybe I can shave off some points from my Cadians.

General tips, the best buffs come from the Independent Characters, Helbrecht or Grimaldus, as they allow hit re-rolls and give perks, like extra attacks and extra strength.

On your budget, I'd go for a Chaplain with the Crusader's helm in the centre of two large 20 man squads, plus, take Cenos. You can't run huge squads without Cenos as morale will muller you.

It's a horde. What I have noticed as being a standard load out.

3 Commander

3 sniper command squads

6 infantry squads

3 sentinels

3 heavy weapons squads

I also have a battalion of:

3 plasma Scion squads

2 Tempestor primes

I'm thinking about melding the two into one brigade detachment.
