Beast of Annihilation
So the note in the FAQ summary says that the null maidens and other units without matching HQ are allowed to be taken in a vanguard without a headquarters unit. Could one or two of these vanguard detachments be used as a standalone army, albeit without any character support? Would one have to designate a model for slay the warlord like in 7th, or would one not have a warlord? Commander Dawnstar
Your army has to have a designated Warlord as a rule, and you must have a Warlord with the Imperium Keyword in order to field standalone Vanguard Detachments of Sisters of Silence. So you could field an army of nothing but Sisters of Silence Vanguard Detachments with no actual HQ choices if you so desired but you would still have to declare a Warlord. Stoic Raptor
...and if your Warlord is not a character, you don't get a Warlord trait. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/346325-sisters-of-silence-vanguard/#findComment-5060025 Share on other sites
