Watchmaster

Had ordered from two different sites overseas for bits to my watchmaster, over a month has passed only to tell me that the second half might have been lost in transit :( I can only hope that it somehow comes through after all ( they refunded me ) but hopes are low.

Looking to order some more bits, but it would require me to order overseas again. So my question to you all, have any of you guys done your own conversion of a watchmaster. GW model is cool, but he is just standing there and so i digressed from buying. Just want to generate some ideas and maybe come up with a different concept.

Mine was going to be

- SW Wolf Calvary Head (w/ scar)

- SM Command Torso

- SW Back

- AC Spear Arm

- Death Company Leg

- Just A Random Decorated Backback

- Random Ornaments

Pics / Comments are very much welcome.

Look into the Salamanders Captain Vulkan He'Stan. He makes for a great looking Watch Master, I run him in my army and I get a lot of complements on how good he looks in black armor with a dragon hide cape.

I find the Grey Knight sprues are a really good source of conversion bits, especially with all the Inquisitorial =I= symbols on them.

Here are a few Watchmasters I've kitbashed together:

Left
- Watchmaster body / power pack (shaved down the skull a little)
- Custodes sword (if they'll give him a spear, why not a sword instead? ...although treat as spear in game of course...)
- DW upgrade sprue head

Right
- Artemis body
- Watchmaster spear
- Grey Knight left hand
- Grey Knight head
- Standard DW power pack

The helmet on the watchmaster looks menacing with the helmet on. And love the custodes sword bit.

Definitely dig the Artemis model one. Very nice.

I have a couple of GK bitz. Just wish I could have gotten the spear. Bitz stores in the US only sell in bundles. And are more costly, but I'll figure it out

  • 2 weeks later...
I built one with devastator legs, the tabarded chest from some space marine kit, the arms and shaft from a heavy thunder hammer, and the top half of another watchmaster's spear (my local GW manager had used the body of a watchmaster as an inquisitor with a hammer head rather than the spear).

thinking of using a primaris librarian or chaplain as my base for an watchmaster. But I wonder will they do anything with the watchmasters options that might hinder my potential progression

He's not getting a new model, so I'd be surprised if he got any options.
