Alpha Legion headhunter upgrade with Mark 3 parts ?

Just wondering if anyone has built their head hunter squads with Mark 3 bits. All the pictures show them with mk4 but I have a bunch of mk3 on sprue and was wondering if they would look silly with them.

I’ve never seen them on MKIII. Why not just do a mock up with some blu-tack?

Or if you’ve got some spare MKVI around, give that a try. I’ve seen one or two images around with MKVI and they look pretty good.

 

Edit: It’s just occurred to me that you might not have the Headhunter parts and were asking before making a purchase. My bad.

The Mk 4 - 6 heads with Mk3 legs might look a bit anachronistic and bottom heavy.

 

Do you have any of the other AL upgrade parts?

 

Why not try putting a mk4 torso and head on mk3 legs and see if it grabs you.

Forgive this picture of Potato-esque quality, but Mk IV torsos on Mk III legs? Mhmmm... Yummy.

Guy above is still a WIP, and certainly not an Alpha Legionnaire (or is he?!), but you get the general gist. I like the combination of Mk IV upper body (shoulders, etc.) with Mk III legs and arms because it takes away some of the weediness of the Mk IV, especially the FW resin sets, because those legs are thiiiiiiiinnnnnnn. I run this guy and his similar squad as Veterans or Seekers, and the Mk III bits give them a good visual separation from my Tacticals, which are all Mk IV. You may find the same if you're using all Mk IV plastics as troops.

Thanks Stru, this is exactly what I was hoping to see. Was worried the legs would look too big for the top, but seems to mesh quite well.

No worries dude! That's a resin torso as well, I'm pretty sure, so the plastic ones should be an even better fit.
