Brother Chaplain Ryld
What's the popular loadout? I am building two princes, one for Khorne and one for Tzeentch. I was thinking of dual talons as the 7 attacks would out weigh the higher AP and damage of the other weapons. Thoughts? Sume
I modeled both of mine with swords and wings. So when I write up lists. I just give them that. To avoid any WYSIWG confusions. I like the sword over the axe personally. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/346512-arming-princes/#findComment-5063055 Share on other sites
WarriorFish
I think talons is probably better all round, especially if you can apply some bonuses/buffs. I'd also expect him to get bogged down with units rather than the characters, but equally most such things have a good invulnerable so the talon's lower AP isn't such a big deal. The sword would be good if you intend on hunting some vehicles or monsters who likely won't have an invulnerable so you can more reliably put the wounds through. DeStinyFiSh
In the end we are talking about Daemons. Some can use their tongue as a whip, spit as bolters or flamer, let bones grow to work as weapons and so on. I think WYSIWYG it is not a big deal to say "this one looks like a normal hand, but it actually strikes with the power of an axe". Most effective setup is double talons I think, the only reason to take a sword or axe is to replace it with a Relic. Panzer
All of the weapons work well but Talons are pretty much the best choice damage-wise. They just look a bit boring compared to sword and axe. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/346512-arming-princes/#findComment-5063170 Share on other sites
Rat_Punter
Skullreaver axe upgrade is amazing. Try it out! Hits on 2+ rerolling 1s Strength awesome Ap-4 D6 damage AND any to wound rolls of 6 cause an additional d3 mortal wounds. This combined has him reliably one shotting redemptor dreads, characters, and chewing through about 7 marines per combat phase. Hes brutal! old git
+1 on Skullreaver. Amazing for 10 points (you have to take a daemon axe first). Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/346512-arming-princes/#findComment-5065450 Share on other sites
Brother Chaplain Ryld
I'm pretty much sold on it for a Khorne Prince. The damage output is awesome. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/346512-arming-princes/#findComment-5065489 Share on other sites
