The Red Eagles - HighMarshalAmp's ETL Chapter

Recommended Posts

This thread is not meant to document the expansion of the Chapter of the Red Eagles at hand. The Outpost is where you will find accounts of their growing numbers.

Instead, this thread shall stand testament not only to the legend of the selfless act that was the creation of this Chapter, but also to the Red Eagles' heritage and loyalties - for in their veins runs the same divine blood that was spilled on Istvaan V alongside that of their brethren, the Salamanders and the Iron Hands, countless years and as many battles ago.

For their Primarch is Corvus Corax, and to him they have sworn eternal service.

So yeah, they're basically Raven Guard and I hope they'll do their part in making the Ravenspire Primus Inter Pares this year.

I mean, just look at their Chapter Icon - it's keeping with the bird motif the RG have going on beautifully.

But as I've mentioned on the B&C before, the Red Eagles aren't my army.

My partner has taken a shine to 40k as well, but she rarely ever has time to paint the miniatures and enjoys painting the details much more than she enjoys priming and basecoating.

So I've decided to take some work off her hands and paint up a 5 man Vanguard Detachment for her to play and for me to play against following a color scheme she had designed.

After tweaking the scheme and finishing an Ancient and a Champion, I had incurably fallen in love with their look and decided to paint a whole Battalion of them instead.

ETL was coming up after all and the paint I'd have needed for my own Homebrew Chapter I had been planning on painting seems to have gone missing en route.

The Chapter's Name, Red Eagles, is a reference to a boss in Skyrim, a heavy-hitting undead dude with a burning sword whom she ran into in her first go at Skyrim at Level 4. Ouch.

That's also why Power Swords are imperative on every Red Eagles model that can take them.

So here's what they look like - credits for the banner go to my partner, the rest is my work.

For the ETL, a Lieutenant is gonna start things off as soon as the Adeptus Mechanicus sends over his armor. That's kinda still waiting to get shipped as well, but should be here soon.

Then, I shall take a solemn (Edit: and most epic) oath of the ETL in the Outpost.

'til then, I shall (Edit: most unepically) wait.
