Corbulo
Hey guys, I'll just dive right in. If I have my warlord (lets say a Tervigon) with the warlord trait of Chameleonic Mutation and she is within 3" of a Malanthrope and an enemy unit affected by The Horror is shooting at my Tervigon. Is the enemy unit -3 to hit or does none of it stack and it's just a -1? Second question. I've seen a couple of battle reports where a guy has his spore mines within 3" of an enemy unit and then detonates them. Can a unit have a charge phase without actually declaring a charge? Thanks in advance. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/346769-just-a-couple-of-rules-questions/ Share on other sites
Claws and Effect
First off, this should be in the Official Rules subforum. That said, I'll try to help. 1) It's a -3. Nothing currently prevents -1 to hit penalties from stacking. 2) I don't think the guy played that quite right, but I am not positive. Xenith
1) They stack unless they say otherwise. I believe the malanthrope specifically says it doesnt stack with venomthropes, same with spore cysts on a carnifex. The horror stacks with chameleonic mutation and spores no problem. Probably also with whatever the genestealer cult psychic power is also, for -4 to hit. 2) The charge phase is the part of the game where charges are declared. If no charges are declared, the charge phase ends. As such, detonating without declaring is fine. If you have spores within 12" of you in your turn, just fire a single bolter at it.
