Another observation I had, and perhaps I missed it though--

I found Raven Guard, Ultramarines, Imperial Fists, Crimson Fists, Salamanders, and Iron Hands but no White Scars from the C:SM. Space Wolves, Dark Angels and Blood Angels were there too. Pretty sure there was a Black Templar faction in there as well but now that I think about it, I cannot recall seeing them either.

Yeah there was one guy taking 3 Black Templar scout squads, just to deny psykers and area. As for White Scars, yeah its curious I would imagine extra movement would be great in a game where you have to reach around the table for objectives but at the same time I dont think a lot of people play White Scars and its not like SM jump infantry or bikes are great so that also takes a bit away from them. I think their tactic suffers from the same idea as the BT one, in theory you should be moving around but in practice the codex kind of pushes you towards pockets of static gunlines.

Wow. Just realized what I want to build for next ETL. A Knight Errant and a Armor “company”. Would prefer an Astartes version but GW needs to give our stuff a squadron rule for it to really work I think. Gonna need to farm for CP in an unconventional list like that and beside the odd Rule of Cool model I don’t do Soup.

I see some strong lists out there...... 120 Plaguebearers + 30 poxwalkers....My god...100+ bloodleters, 9 carnifexes.... 100+ cultists.... so much body on the ground..

And how you can play without guard allies?:)

I'd be keeping a close watch on my opponent's time keeping. This is the kind of game I'd be calling a judge over regularly to punish slow play. Both players would have around 90 minutes each for all their turns and deployment.

I'd certainly let my opponent know before he even starts to deploy that I'm watching him closely.
