Arufel87
Now that Obliterators are reduced to a beta strike due to the FAQ nerf is it feasable to start these on the table as a sort of marching gunline unit? Obviously Alpha legion Oblits are still laughing but the rest of us are in a strange position. Panzer
Dunno, their footprint is small enough that I think dropping them turn 2 still works well enough. Excessus
You can also drop them in turn 1 to strengthen your gunline where it's needed. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/346900-starting-obliterators-on-the-table/#findComment-5072234 Share on other sites
Syrakul
Keep in mind their low range of 24, these are not for backfield unless you are playing against an aggressive assault army; You may have to present them close to your enemy to actually fire off first turn. You can still simply DS in your own deployment, So even starting off the table to avoid opponents first shooting phase, then having better placement in your own zone on your turn is still tactically better. If you have a wealth of other DS units and are having trouble selecting which PP to keep on the field then yes, that would be a valid reason to start them on the board.
