Amun Ra
Hi folks. Just looking for a steer on expanding my RG. I am having a blast painting and playing what would be considered a more standard RG list, decapitation strike, lots of infiltrating mk6 marines and a bunch of drop pods and flyers. I want to look at how I build on that list though from a painting and modelling perspective. I have a prospero box set and want a bunch of brutal mk3 vets along with adding a load of heavy armour. This force will play against type as a heavy grind force, and I wanted to back story them as terrans who were not sent in predation fleets. I am struggling to find anything about colour schemes though. I know Ashen Claws had red pads and helms, but they were long gone by the time of the heresy. Would there be any remnants left with a similar scheme I could mix into my normal list, eventually building into a list of their own? bluntblade
Fighting as RG proper? I'm sure there's scope for that. Heck, just make up a young Terran captain who embraced Corvus' doctrines but wanted to retain some of the old XIX's heraldry. I'd like to see that. Arminius_Warbringer
Sounds like a fresh take on RG. I wish I had something to help you advance the plan but I don't know anything about that. You could add terminators of Terran origin too. That would also give them a different take. I forget what the terminator armor clad terrans called this unit but it is in the basic fluff. I would think tartaros would fit the RG art of war but as terrans you could use any of the main suits. Good luck brother and keep us updated on your progress Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/346927-terran-raven-guard/#findComment-5078147 Share on other sites
bluntblade
The Raven Guard won't totally eschew the use of Indomitus and Cataphractii mind, any more than the Death Guard would never employ jetbikes. So long as you're emphasising mobility to some degree, I'd say they can be perfectly fluffy. The mace that distracts the enemy, leaving the dagger free to do its work. Ryltar Thamior
I wound up asking a somewhat similar question a few weeks back - there may be some material of use to you in the relevant thread. http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344844-hunting-for-information-on-unification-eraterran-xix/ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/346927-terran-raven-guard/#findComment-5079232 Share on other sites

Yeah, will be some Caterphractii added at some point. The ultimate sanction.
