Montford
I am curious as to how my fellow Craftworld players prefer top arm their Wraithlords when they field them. My go-to is Bright Lance, Shuriken Cannon, 2x Flamers, Ghost Glaive. Captain Coolpants
My go-to used to be, glaive, twin flamers and twin bright Lance. But with the heavy penalty effecting everything and the damage chart, ive changed to; twin or single shuriken cannon, twin shuriken catapults and glaive. Because its all assault there's no movement penalty, and if i want to advance, i can still shoot everything. Having Battle Focus lets you advance and shoot at no penalty with all those assault weapons. Karhedron
Another vote for dual shuricannons, dual shuricats and Glaive. With this loadout, your Wraithlord is still fairly cheap but is a T8 beast that can move fast and still fire at near full effect. They work well in Mech lists as they deny your enemy any soft targets and are fast enough to form a second wave to your advance. If you have an enemy who wants to come to you, they make a decent counter-charge unit if your opponent tries to threaten your grav tanks. Shiboinky
I agree with the previous few posters. The mobility that the shuriken loadout offers helps them react quickly to threats. I often use mine to hold down a portion of the board, whether that be the center or a flank. He is tough enough to take a fair number of hits but also cheap enough that when he does go down, it's not crippling. Captain Coolpants
Which craftworld trait do you guys think is best for the wraithlord? Iyanden is of course good because of the reduced damage chart impact. But I also feel that Ulthwé is good for anything with multiple wounds. Marshal Wolfhart
In fact Iyanden is statistically worse than Ulthwé (or Alaitoc if damage comes from >12"), because for the same effect you actually have that extra wound whose loss you ignore with iyanden :/ I too run my wraithlord with glaive and all shuriken, though i dabbled with flamers (turned out too costly and effectively one shot) and brightlances (made me not want to move). I will in the near future try one with two starcannons as melee deterrent for my firebase.
