Krom4095
Hey, I'm wanting to add a Leviathan Dreadnought to my Ravenguard/Carcharodon SM force. What is the best loadout if I'm playing PL for 1) flexible take on all comers Dread, and 2) Firebase all shooting Dread? Any advice is appreciated. Thx. Cruor Vault
It's hard to go wrong with double Storm Cannon Arrays. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/347224-best-leviathan-dreadnought-if-playing-pl/#findComment-5081255 Share on other sites
RandomMarine
Culln the risen if abusing the Unkown founding rule otherwise I like twin grav Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/347224-best-leviathan-dreadnought-if-playing-pl/#findComment-5081502 Share on other sites
MARK0SIAN
My Flexible, take on all comers loadout is siege drill and grav flux bombard. The high ap, scaling shots and fixed vehicle damage of the grav just beats everything in my opinion and the drill will mulch anything without a great invulnerable save in CC. Firebase wise, I would either go double grav or double cannon. I find the different ranges mean they don’t synergise well so always better to go with two of the same as opposed to mixing and matching :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/347224-best-leviathan-dreadnought-if-playing-pl/#findComment-5081730 Share on other sites
Ishagu
Siege Drill and Melta array is actually the better option for a loyalist variant, imo. The Melta array has the same number of shots as two Grav Bombards against single model units, or against infantry units numbering less than 10 models (same number of shots against 5-9). Eagerly awaiting the release of the Dread Drop Pod :-D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/347224-best-leviathan-dreadnought-if-playing-pl/#findComment-5082780 Share on other sites
Krom4095
Isn't there already a Dreadnought Drop Pod from FW? Or are you just waiting for the model? I have a Death Storm Drop Pod I'll be proxying as my Lucius Pattern Dreadnought Drop. They’ve since remade them and are releasing a new version soon. SickSix
Asking about whats best when playing PL seems wrong to me. PL should just be for fun. If your worried about whats best maybe play matched play? Dracos
Balancing PL is important in Matched Play for purposes of properly utilizing Reserves. Playing power levels doesn’t mean you still don’t want to bring the best tool for the job though. People playing power level games still want to win. Playing for fun doesn’t mean you don’t care about what you have on the table and how it performs. This is especially true for something like a leviathan, quite an expensive model where a person might not have the spare cash to buy and magnetise all the various weapon options so they want the best one that suits their list.
