sarabando
Chipping is going to be your best friend here. i dont know the current GW names for paints so il be vague. For the worn paint you will want to paint your mini like normal Dark > Midtone > highlight then add small splotches of a different colour like brown or metal then around the lower edge add a thin line of the highlight colour. not my pic but you can kinda make it out here. http://www.starshipmodeler.com/rv/cl_tank_Turret-view.JPG once you have your colours in place i cant sing the praises of a light brown was enough somthing like GWs agrax earth shade or army painters soft tone. check out Chaplain Dosjetkahe has a fantastic red/blue looking minis. the emperor is scottish
Thanks for the fast replies and the tips guys! That robe looks pretty close to what I seek to achieve. Maybe with some sponging round the hem It will be spot on.As for the chipping thanks very much sarab. Although I've never tried it I've looked into it plenty.I thin for the blue just silvers and greys would be ok for the chipping. Not so sure for the red.
