Arufel87
I'm preparing a mono Nurgle list for an upcoming ITC. The problem that I've encountered during test games is that not much in the Nurgle arsenal is particularly great at cracking big hard targets and flyers. I've usually had to tarpit them to death or just get pummelled in the case of flyers. I was considering a GUO but I'm worried it will give away too many secondary points in ITC format. Has anyone got any suggestions? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/347525-nurgle-heavy-hitters/ Share on other sites
DeStinyFiSh
I experienced the same. With reroll wounds, extra damage for Loci and so on we are able to deal wounds, but we lack AP. GUO works fine against big targets, but you need to reach them first. I tried the Plaguehulk once. It soaked up tons of fire, but did next to no damage in return thanks to low number of attacks and bad WS. 2 rounds of CC against a Rhino, but in the end a little Poxbringer had to help out and strike the finishing blow IMHO Princes with wings are the way to go. Screen them with Drones so they don't get killed by shooting attacks and you can still move them up the field quite fast. Arufel87
Are GUOs/Rotigus even viable in tournament play? I'd love to run one but I just can't see one surviving. DeStinyFiSh
Not a tournament player, but I think they will die turn 1 (but they will eat tons of fire doing so). When you get turn 1 and can cast Miasma on them and use the 4++ Stratagem they might survive, but maybe the opponent will just ignore them a turn and shoot them next time. They are slow and your opponent has time enough to deal with them. I think Princes are the better option most of the time. That being said, Rotigus is better than a regular GUO for just 5 points extra. Only downside: You cant choose a WLT or Relic for him.
