MrZakalwe
Hi folks, This is probably a silly question (of the 'how does he not know that?' variety) but what's the best way to make jewellery chain rigid in a conversion? I'm assuming it's covering it with some sort of glue but more than that I'm not sure. I'm in the process of converting a Carmine dragon into a dragon lord as an AoS side project and while I like the idea of chain reins but I don't like the idea of the chain swinging. Thanks! Arkhanist
I've not done loosely hanging metal chain, but for securing it to model surfaces I just use thin superglue so it wicks in nicely and locks it all down; that might work for hanging chain? Have a look at flexible resin chain instead - it's poseable due to the wire inset, but it's stiff enough that it won't move normally, particularly once you've glued both ends down. MrZakalwe
Thanks, I'll run some tests with thin superglue and see if that works. Assumed it was either that or coating the whole think in thin PVA. Kierdale
Superglue should do it. Or the Empire Flagellants kit has some rigid plastic ones. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/347559-rigid-chains/#findComment-5089152 Share on other sites
