Rigid chains

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

This is probably a silly question (of the 'how does he not know that?' variety) but what's the best way to make jewellery chain rigid in a conversion? I'm assuming it's covering it with some sort of glue but more than that I'm not sure.

I'm in the process of converting a Carmine dragon into a dragon lord as an AoS side project and while I like the idea of chain reins but I don't like the idea of the chain swinging.

Thanks!

I've not done loosely hanging metal chain, but for securing it to model surfaces I just use thin superglue so it wicks in nicely and locks it all down; that might work for hanging chain?

Have a look at flexible resin chain instead - it's poseable due to the wire inset, but it's stiff enough that it won't move normally, particularly once you've glued both ends down.
