Rannik the White
Two weeks ago I played against the Primaris for the first time. Quite an eye opening game. Especially the agressors. Any advise in playing against them. Our game was very close, I had my snipers in a bad spotor it would have been a tie. Kasper_Hawser
Basically take advantage of the fact that Primaris can't take any transport except repulsors, so your Long Fangs if you use them, will almost have somehting to shoot. In this case, mass plasma Cannons is quite useful with a sprinkling of Lascannons to fire against Repulsors. that being said, Repulsors have a ridiculous amount of shots at 24-36 inch so be careful where you deploy, otherwise one volley will kill a full long fang squad even in ruins/cover. Other than that, mass AP-1 like HB and Twin assault cannons will whittle them down. For CC, apart from Aggressors and maybe Inceptors, not much to be scared about, although without power weapons, 5 GH/BC will take forever to kill 5 Intercessors. but they will tie them up, which is good. Fun fact, if Space Wolves use Intercessors, our miserable strategem Bolter Drill becomes more scarrier, rapid firing AP-1 weapons in the face. Anyway, if you are already using Grey Hunters with plasma and combi plasma, as long as you have a Wolf lord to reroll 1s, you are good to go fighting primaris. Even if he brings repulsors, overcharge plasma will still hurt it on 4+. I won't dictate list for you, but basic tools of Space Wolves still apply: 1) Wolf Lord for reroll 1s to hit overcharge plasma 2) Wolf Guard battle leader reroll 1s to wound 3) Rune Priest to provide cover save and negate the -1AP of primaris bolters (unless they are imperial fists, in which case take hte other spells) 4) 6 man grey hunter squads with plasma, combi plasma and optional plasma pistol. 5) Twin Assault cannon razorbacks 6) Long Fangs with plasma cannon and lascannons.
