Quixus
According to GW's website, emphasis and annotations mine: The models can be assembled as either a 10-man squad, a squad of 9 Reivers with a Sergeant or 2 separate 5-man squads, each with a Sergeant of their own. Each has an impressive selection of weapon options; 10 heavy bolt pistols, 12 bolt carbines and 14 combat knives are included, with the loadout options being carbine, pistol1 and carbine or pistol and combat knife2. 1 Loadout 1 1 Loadout 2 with suboptions. Yet if I read the SM or BA codex correctly, only the Reiver Sergeant is allowed to have a bolt carbine and a combat knife. am I missing something? CaptainMarsh
The oxford comma would have been helpful here. There are three loadouts discussed:1- Carbine2- Pistol and Carbine.3- Pistol and knife. Quixus
That list is not supported at all by the rules. If it were, why would anyone take loadout 1 when you get loadout 2 for free? Each model is armed with a bolt carbine, a heavy bolt pistol, frag grenades, krak grenades and shock grenades. [...] • All Reivers in the unit may replace their bolt carbine with a combat knife. • The Reiver Sergeant may replace either his bolt carbine or heavy bolt pistol with a combat knife. Mr. Shine
The description describes the physical contents of what the models can hold when assembled (for example you have 12 different two-handed carbine arm pairs to use) and aren't reflective of the unit's rules. It's not false advertising, and this isn't a rules question. shandwen
I thought the sergeants were allowed to take the carbine and blade? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/347639-false-advertising-or-am-i-missing-something/#findComment-5091736 Share on other sites

I hoped I had missed another erratum saying otherwise. I thought the sergeants were allowed to take the carbine and blade?Yes, but only the sergeants. Dam13n
GWs website lists the modelling options. Implications drawn from them are not rules. Nor is it false advertising, especially as WYSIWYG is no longer a rule (nor has it been for quite some time now).
