Questions of a returning player

Greetings brothers, it's been too long. I think it's coming close to a year since the last time I played, and to be perfectly honest with you the last time I had played before that one single game of 2017, was probably back in 2015. So I've got some questions, so many questions. Also models.... I've basicly got a lot of models and a lot of questions. Right now my current plan is to build up what I have of primaris Marines and to just build what I have and then start doing some conversions as the inspiration hits me, but there's a few questions that might affect how I go about everything.

So first things first, what do I have. I have two of the starter boxes, a redemptor box, aggressors box, and a box that just says primaris captain on it. I also ordered a repulsor. So my total force is:

2 captains in gravis armor

1 captain not in gravis armor

4 lieutenants

2 ancients

20 intercessors

6 interceptors

3 aggressors

1 redemptor

1 repulsor

Doesn't seem like a bad start. But some models are going to need to be modified or they'll never see the table, and thus they'll never be painted. But my first question is;

Intercessors, should I run them in 10 man or 5 man?

What is the difference in appearance for the three bolster loadouts of the intercessors?

What else can a primaris lieutenant be?

What else can an ancient be?

What else can wear gravis armor?

Is my space marine codex from last year still viable? (Are their any options not listed)

Has anyone had success with any of this stuff?

What pieces from the old Marines boxes look good with these guys?

I thought I had more questions but I must have forgotten them.

I think the best is using 5-man Intercessor Squads with one Auxiliary Grenade Launcher. It is a 91p units that can resist similar punishment than a 10-man tactical squad.

They are dirty cheap and tough. Perfect for controlling objetives and firefights. So best equipment is the basic boltrifle for that purpose 30" RapidFire1 F4 AP-1.

The codex released in 2017 is still legal. Not the best codex ATM but that's is another topic.

Most pieces from old-marines totally fit in Primaris but legs and arms that are sligthy shorter. So you can use the hands and close combat weapons and heads.

Back packs and guns are small but all other stuff like purity seals and other decorative pieces are perfect

Thanks, it's good to know I don't need to buy a new book again.

New thought.... Reivers.... how do pep ain't their helmets when they normally paint the helmet white?

Reivers are a really nice addition. Most people is painting the front plate, or the mask as a white skull so it looks like an skull, but if you are going to paint all the helmet white it will lose the effect. You could use the other heads, with no helmet and only mask. Or even changing the colour of the mask to a bone white, not snow white. Maybe even adding some red marks in the mask like ritual marks.

How do we use reivers? Are they scouts ?

They are not scouts and they do a different role. Main point is that a 5-man scouts squad is 55p, but a similar Reiver squad is 100ish, of course they have 2W per mini.

Reiver squad with Grav-chute and HeavyPistol+CCW is a cheap unit 100p that can be deployed with DeepStrike and it can engage GEQ or even MSU MEQ units.

Another good configuration is Carbine and footsloging, they are similar to Intercessor but more focused to moving and shooting, moving and shooting... more bully function than Intercessors that are more objetive holders
